Having gained a rich variety of experience in engineering, finance, equipment maintenance and distribution during parallel careers with the military and a large electrical distributor, along with an avocation for aviation, we have developed an appreciation for the needs of small businesses. 

 

Specifically, we are amazed by the vast number of small businesses that are ignored and poorly serviced by large suppliers.

 

Nowhere is this more apparent than in the lubrication world.  While the major houses send their suits out quarterly to present the latest “preferred customer” price sheets along with tickets to whatever favors are required to persuade their counterparts, the guys on the production floors struggle with the effects of inferior products:  increased tooling wear, poor finishes, unscheduled maintenance, break-downs and hazards.

 

Small and medium-sized operations seldom get more than cursory attention from their local major brand distributors.  When they do, the first thing mentioned usually covers price, rather than how they can make the job for the guy with grease under his nails any easier.

 

There is a better way.

 

Regardless of the advanced degrees we have stuck somewhere in a file drawer, we show up at our customer’s door in industrial uniforms, willing to crawl through the innards of a machine to intimately understand your particular challenge.  No, we’re not tribologists.  Our address books, however, contain the names of dozens of folks who can answer questions nearly 24/7.

Because time and volume are important considerations in any discussion of lubrication; we also sell two brands of equipment to help our customers address these issues. Both are very high quality, reliable product lines:

• Alemite is a great source for grease guns, fittings and a large catalog of off-the-shelf items. 

• Oilrite engineers more complex automated systems.
